Layout by Rachel Lowe - Amy Tangerine On a Whim Oh Yeah!

Hello PI friends, I am so excited to be here for my first DT share!

I have used the stunning and super fun collection by Amy Tangerine On a Whim which is in store now!

I have used two cut files to add texture and interest to my layout.
The pineapple cut file is available in store for FREE!
I have paper pieced the pineapple using the many gorgeous papers from this collection.
I then cut several palm leaves and backed the centres with a green paper piece and used foam tape to attach, I love height on my layouts by the way!

Then for the really fun part layering and using the die cuts (ephemera) and stickers from the collection.

Not only did I layers papers behind my photos I also added some die cuts. I also added a layer of foam tape to create even more height.

I have then done some random sewing to add even more texture.

How fun is this layout to show case a beach photo! This is my baby, no pants and loving the freedom of the beach and ocean, beautiful memory created here!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

I would love to see you you create using the free pineapple cut file and AT On a Whim collection.

Scraplift Sunday 5/21

Well hello everyone! It's time for another Scraplift Sunday!  Today we are lifting this darling layout created by Amy Coose for our current Issue Mom-O-Grams. I love the photo at the top, and the use of the frames. They can be any shape or item!  Let's see what the team created.

Rachel used the new Echo Park, Summer Fun. The bright pinks really sow off those stunning black and white photos. I love how Rachel simplified the design on her page.

Anna's sweet photos sit on lovely layers of Crate Paper Oasis. All the different black and white frames in different shades and sizes look amazing with all the splatters of color.

Stacie's chose to flip the design on it's side for her layout with beautiful results. That photo is breathtaking, especially surrounded by all the shades of pinkie the frames, flowers and tags. What a great way to do some stash busting!

We love our Paper Issues Friends and Fans and want you to scrap lift too!  Create a layout, then share it with us in our Facebook group!   We hope to see you playing along today or with one of our many other May challenges.  See you next week!

So Macho

Happy Saturday everyone! Marcia here today with a masculine layout to share.  Recently, while I was putting my layouts into albums, I noticed that I scrap my daughters way, way more (I mean, really, WAY more) more than I do my son, or even my husband. I decided I had better do something about that, so I created this layout using the awesome My Mind's Eye Hey Mister collection.

The Hey Mister collection is so perfect for scrapping all of your guys, no matter the age. I just love the weightlifter guys and knew I had the perfect photo ... My son and his friends showing off their muscles.

I used a variety of the journal cards from the collection to create my background. They aren't just for pocket pages! There are lots of fun die cut ephemera pieces as well. I love the foil accents on some pieces, like the tab I place above my photo.

I added some fun puffy stickers and enamel dots too.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
With Father's Day coming up, you really need to stock up on a collection that you can use to scrap Dad and a whole lot more! Use my coupon code and save 20%.

Free File Friday

Happy Friday and welcome back to to Free File Friday!  Today we are showing you how to use the new cut file released earlier this week, Mom Life.  It's not just for Moms!  Try any of these on a project about you, your mom, aunt, sister, best friend, create a thank you card, or even use it on a day in the life page!

To start our round up of projects, I documented a Mother's Day photo of my mom and I (it's pretty rare to have a photo without one of the grandkids on it). Next, I added mist and gelatos to the background paper and layered white gesso over all of it to soften the bold Maggie Holmes paper.  I cut the heart file in black and white cardstock to layer it and shadow it against the busy paper. Check out my blog for more details if you're interested.

Take a peek at layers of color over the background and close up of the cut file details.

Let's check out what the awesome design team has created:

Devra created this beautiful layout with documenting this sweetest photo of her mom when Devra was a baby!  I love the scallops cut out of patterned paper and the layers of Oh My Heart Thickers, puffy stickers, and embellishments. See the cut file 'my mom' as part of her title and how cool it looks layered with mini hearts paper.  I am inspired by Devra to get one of my childhood photos on a page soon!
Image may contain: 2 people, text

Anna played along with the same love heart, but I adore how it has a totally different look with the mixed media colors behind it and the stitching is oh, so pretty! The word 'you' is from the Be You cut file. I love the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection for this beautiful color scheme. The butterflies are so playful and add to the beauty of her adorable photo.

Here's another by Anna for this month's issue and she used 'mom moments' for it.  How sweet is this lovely pic of Anna and her mom!?  I love the look of the white on white background with the scattered hearts.

Get your cutting machine out this weekend and try out a cut file or ten!
I love to cut out lots of cut files at one time.
It saves me when I have just a few minutes to work on a page.
I hope you will post your lovely creations using any of these Mom Life (it's not just for moms!!) cut files or the Slices of Life cut file to show us how "real" life is!

using any of these cut files now through June 4th.
I can't wait to see how you use these in your creative projects.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello and happy Thursday!!
I am so happy to be back on the team and posting my first blog post for this term!  I have a pretty easy challenge to get you scrapping.  I made this layout using the Addison line from Bella Blvd. I've had it for a long time but just haven't used it.  So, that's how I came up with my challenge.

I want you to create a layout or card using something you don't usually add to your pages.  It's always easy to create with the things you are used to using, now it's time to use what you don't.
For me it was the feathers.  I have seen them used on pages but just never got in to using them myself.  Well, I loved using them on this page!  The color combination is also new for me.  So I guess I managed to use two things I don't normally pick.  Here's a close-up of the feathers...
I grouped the feathers together, added some sewing thread, enamel dots and some flair.  Easy!
Here's what the whole layout looks like...
I'm not sure why I waited to use this line.  I love it!! So fun and easy to use!
If you don't have the Addison Line you can find it in the Paper Issues Store along with other great lines!  I hope to see your creations if this challenged you to create something!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Product Spotlight: Get Outdoors

Its getting warmer for most of us so it is time to start getting outdoors more. I know moms are happy we can send the kids out in warm weather and they sleep well at night. Couples can enjoy a bit of sunshine and a family hike. All the gardeners can get their green thumbs to do their magic. So lets go off and see what the DT found in the shop

Lisa also know as the Card Master whipped up this wonderful card with an under the sea theme.  She used Bella Blvd Secrets of the Sea {Boy} for this card. I love the colors and the big ship on the face of this card. So fun.

Amanda used Cocoa Vanilla Studios Wild at Heart for this lovely outdoor LO. Its a great way to show off a fallsy picture but not using a fall themed collection. The colors here in the photo are complimented with this line. Just love it.

Cassie scrapped and I love when she does. What can be more outdoors this time a year then S'mores. And that paper I love all paper that is wood grain I will snag any wood grain paper that comes out in doubles. It just just such great paper to always have on hand and here you can see why.

I documented our recent flooding of our neighborhood with PhotoPlays Lakeside and Campfire combo collection. Its a great line to document all your outdoor hikes, camping, trekking and even flooding :) Again wood grain paper so I can't go wrong.

Stacie also used PhotoPlays collection to document her boating. I just love love love how she used this paper I found it intimidating but she rocked it out. I'll have to pull it out again and use it.

Devra used Fancy Pants Family & Co for this outdoors page. She cut the papers to make it grass like and documented her king of the lawn because we all need one of those. Love how she used this line to document her outdoors happenings it was certainly a perfect collection for this.

So get out your outdoor photos from recent to years past and start scrapping them to join this challenge. Let us know what collections you found to scrap them as well. You have until June 4th to add them to the Facebook challenge album or even tag #PaperIssues on Instagram.  And remember if you need to go shopping use my code and get 20% off your total order.

May Try It Out Tuesday

Hi Paper Issues Friends & Fans!
Welcome to our brand new, super fun challenge:

This challenge is all about giving something new or different, a good old fashioned go!

This month we're going to try.....

Just Add Water

Simply use water soluble or washable markers, paints, gelatos or even stamp pads & inks and apply water to them. Watch how they react!!! Tilt ur page and watch the colours run!
Super fun and a cool result too!

Here's a quick 'how to' if you're not sure what I am meaning....

Draw, scribble, make marks with your NON waterproof pens. You'll see that I used my 4 year old son's Crayola Washables for mine - they work really well for this technique!

Apply water!
I wanted to maintain my shape, so I added lots of water and used brushstrokes for mine. I didn't tilt my page, but I did use the water puddles to wet my brush and splatter with.
If you're more adventurous, try a misting spray bottle, and hold your cardstock upright and watch for the colour runs!!! Awesome!
*If paper warping bothers you, be sure to use a heavier gsm cardstock, or apply a layer of gesso first.
For the record, I used the regular American Crafts 80gsm cardstock for this layout, the warping was minimal*

I hope you'll join us this month, and try this fun technique out!

Here's my completed layout,

Isn't the result spectacular?! Who would've thought toddler markers could be so effective!
I've teamed mine up with Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection, and a sweet Bitty Bow from Cocoa Vanilla Studio! Divine!
Here's a closer look......

Blooms, butterflies and hearts! *sigh* All the pretty things!!!
I always intended to use this collection, so when I made my 'marks' I tried to mimic the flight path of the butterfly. Kinda adding a little whimsical feel to it all!

So soft and pretty!
Who needs watercolour paint when you have markers?!

Here's some more inspiring layouts from our incredibly talented team.

*Remember: Clicking on an artist's name will take you to their blog / instagram for more details and pics about their project*

First up is  Ann with this stunning layout!
She's used acrylic inks with water, as well as a Free Paper Issues Cut File for her creation! You'll also spy Fancy Pants Designs Happy Place collection here - love it!

Next up is Janet with this striking page! She has used Bella Blvd's Alex line & added water to inks /  mists to create her fun background. Awesome!

Anna is wowing us with this adorable layout!
She has mixed Crate Paper's Cool Kid, Cute Girl & Dear Lizzy's Saturday collections with Distress Crayons and water. What an eye-catching result!

Cassie played along, and painted her background with watered down mists!
La la loooooooove when she scraps! Aaaaahmazing!

Look at this floral delight from Stacie!!!
She has used watercolor crayons beneath her cut file flowers; soooooooo pretty!

And last, but by no means least,
Michelle has this divine mixed media number, created with Faber-Castell Gelatos & water!
Cool dude, indeed!
