Planner Junkie

Hi.  I'm Damaris.  And I'm a planner junkie.
Saying it out loud feels empowering!

If you're like me, you're probably prone to purchasing many planners.  Different sizes, styles and for different reasons.  When I first purchased the Carpe Diem "Ballerina" planner I thought I'd be using it to track my blog posts, my blog subjects and maybe online courses.  I epically failed at keeping up with it.  But I was able to find another purpose for it.  Something more meaningful to me, personally. I am a fan of podcasts, and I use this particular planner to house my sermon notes.  Because the podcasts are recorded, (and because I'm way behind on these), I'm able to add titles that coincide with the each podcast.

I used the delicious Maggie Holmes "Carousel" collection.  I made a paper clip with the bow, using a standard gold paper clip and slipping it in the loop behind the bow.  I cut down 12x12 paper to create fun yellow arrows, and used that adorable hot air balloon cardstock to make my own ephemera.  You may even spot some Pink Paislee "Summer Lights" cloud cut-outs on the layout too!

If you're not into sermons, maybe there are other podcasts you listen to that you'd like to keep track of and take notes for.  Maybe each week can be a different podcast theme.  Weight loss.  Craft tips.  Etc. However you decide to use your extra planners and paper supplies, please be sure to share that with us in the PI Facebook Group.  There, you'll also be sure to find more creative ways to use your supplies.

Product Spotlight: Happy Halloween!

When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
'tis near Halloween!

Becky here today with some Halloween inspiration from the PI Design Team!

I used the special edition Rocktober (fall) Swag Bag to document our jack-o-lanterns from a few years ago! I love carving pumpkins! If you haven't gotten your hands on this kit yet, be sure you do soon!

Kelly used the brand new Spellbound line from Fancy Pants for this awesome 8.5x11 page of her Halloween costume last year! Be sure to check out all three of the new lines from Fancy Pants, Spellbound, Take Note and Holiday Hustle, in the shop now!

Lisa used bits and pieces from her stash of Paper Issues Swag Bags for this spooktacular Halloween card.

Stacie used the holographic spider web specialty paper from the Bootiful Night collection by American Crafts for this awesome Spiderman page!

Wendy used the Midnight Haunting collection from Pebbles for this festive layout. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for some Halloween candy binging!

Be sure to pick up all of the new Halloween lines in the Paper Issues shop before they are gone! We want to see all of your festive layouts so be sure to link them up to the October challenge album in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group for a chance to win one of two gift cards giving out monthly!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peak!

Put A Bow On It!

Hello friends! It's Rachel here and I'm so happy to be back and sharing this sweet layout with you! I'm in love with the combination of colors and patterns in Shimelle's Glitter Girl collection. My inspiration for this layout was mixing all of the pink and yellow patterns together! With so many patterns to choose from I knew I was only going to be able to show glimpses of each one and so I decided to layer and angle them at the top and bottom of my layout. I even used several of the strips that come at the bottom of the 12x12 patterned paper. Have you ever noticed that many of them have patterns on them? When I cut them off, I usually save them because they are perfect for designs just like this!

My favorite pink paper in this collection is Spell It Out and my favorite yellow paper is Snap To It! In the middle of the page I added a black and white selfie of my family. Love them so much! When I have a layout with so much bold colors I love printing off my photo in black and white so the colors don't clash or compete with the layout. I added some older Amy Tangerine thickers for my title, enamel dots, and a few piece of ephemera from the Glitter Girl collection! BUT - my absolute favorite embellishment is this adorable black and white striped bow from Maggie Holmes' Carousel collection! They sold out so quick I totally missed them the first time they arrived in the Paper Issues store. Gasp! So when they restocked I was sure to grab not one but two packs!!! You can find them here and grab them for yourself!

I hope I've inspired you to create! Thanks so much for stopping by today. Need some retail therapy in the form of paper goodies??! Hop on over to the Paper Issues store and save 20% with my code RACHEL.

Scraplift Sunday

Hello and happy Scraplift Sunday! Remember, we made that a thing! So today, Ann made this layout we are lifting. It's all about the happy. Happy colors, happy prints, happy photos and even happy birthday! She is the master at texture, and we can't forget the straws! I had fun lifting this layout, the team did too.

Devra -See, I had to play along. Everything about Ann's layout made me smile. You know what makes me smile? Glitter Girl. Oh my goodness.  The glitter Thickers,  the bright colors, the fun icons stickers, the shaker stickers,  I love it. Anyway, I used one larger photo, then added an extra large embellishment too. I'm going to be sad when I use it all up. really. I am.

Oh, look at Rachel's sweet boys all dressed and ready to go. She really knows how to make the best use of Elle's Studio Family Fun. It suits her clean style. The looped twine adds some whinsy and all the hearts, oh all the hearts.

Boo! Kelly is starting halloween early with this ghoulish lift! She broke out the Fancy Pants Spellbound. I love her clean approach to this page and how she stretched it across the whole page.

Wendy's in the Christmas spirit already! I like her use of the 2 different sized photos. This page is full off all the Christmas goodies, especially glitter!

Ok, so there you have it. One layout, several lifts.  You know we want to see your projects! Join us in our Facebook Group for daily chatter. Find Scraplift Sunday and so many more challenges in the October Challenge album. Feel like some new goodies? Use DEVRA at checkout for 20%v off your purchase.

A "Spellbound" Halloween with Tracey Fox

Hey everyone! Today, I’m sharing a Halloween layout using products from Fancy Pants’ Spellbound collection. I don’t usually do a lot for Halloween, so it’s rare that I have Halloween photos to scrap, but I DO go to a lot of movies, so I thought these products worked perfectly to document the Harry Potter movie marathon I attended over Halloween weekend last year. I just love the soft purples and minty greens mixed in with the traditional black and orange in this collection!

To make my page, I layered up some of the collection’s patterned papers and lots of  the Spellbound Tags Die Cuts (including a bit of the product packaging) under my photos of the theater and the marathon schedule.

After adhering my journaling strips, I distressed up some old chipboard alphas from my stash to create the title, “Epic Binge,” because eight movies in one weekend was a serious binge-watch! I used some of the fun bakers’s twine included in the diecut pack of tags and wrapped it around some of the letters.

I hope you’ll have fun making Halloween projects this October! Join us in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook group and share what you’re making with us! You’ll especially want to be there with us for the Paper Issues Fall Crop October 27-28! And when you shop the store, be sure to use the code “TRACEY” to save 20% on your entire purchase!

Fan Feature Friday: Which Kraft? #1

Happy Friday everyone! Lisa here to shine the spotlight on some of the projects you've created for our current issue, Which Kraft? We love to feature your beautiful work so be sure to share your creations in the New Issue album in our {Friends & Fans} Facebook group.

1. Bethany loves kraft paper so this issue was right up her alley! There are so many great neutral elements on her page, including "stitched" tags and fussy cut flowers.

2. Christy's take on this issue is absolutely fabulous! Look at all of the leaves tucked around the photo and how the design mimics the circular background.

3. Jenessa created this beauty on kraft paper and added in so many wonderful details.

4. Janet created this spook-tacular Halloween page. Love her use of the chipboard frames!

5. Laurie's sweet Halloween page features traditional colors paired with gold glittered embellishments. Great combo!

6. How cute is this Halloween card by Danielle? I spy an adorable Wanda Witch Doodle-pop sending her best witches. :)

Thank you all for playing along with us! Be sure to grab the button below to showcase on your blog.

I'll be back next Friday with a look at more wonderful projects!

Scrap Soup - October!

Can you believe it's already time for the October Scrap Soup Challenge?? Me either!!
As always, you must use everything in the recipe, but you can add as many extra "ingredients" as you would like to make it your own!

Here's this month's list:

For my layout, I used pieces from the amazing Rocktober Kit and the Boo Crew FREE cut file. I love all the bits and pieces in the Rocktober kit, a little bit of Halloween and Fall too!
For the cut file, I cut out all of the inside pieces, leaving only the border of the pumpkin. Is that paper pumpkin carving??  ha!

Stacie's layout features the Bootiful Night collection along with the cute Trick or Treat Sweets Cut File (that she designed!) that is available for FREE here in the Paper Issues store! Such a darling layout, Stacie!

Wendy's layout reminds us how much we love fall! I really like how she used Carta Bella's Hello Fall collection to layer under her photos. What a great way to remember your favorite fall treat!

How about playing along with the Scrap Soup challenge?? Did you know you could win a gift card to the Paper Issues store!! Be sure to add your project here in the October Challenge album on our Paper Issues {friends & fans} Facebook page to be entered in the drawing. Add it up

Hey everyone, it's time for a new Add it Up challenge!  Here is how this challenge works. I've compiled a list of items, each with its own point value, to use on your project. Each month, I will post the total number of points your project should have. Some months, I'll choose a lower point value and therefore, a "cleaner" project and other months you need to reach a higher point value. You can use anything on the list as long as it adds up to the total number of points chosen for the month.

This month I want to see a total points of 50 or less!  Here is the list of items:

Here is my take with 49 points.  I used the Glitter Girl collection from Shimelle.

Let's take a look at what the team created...

Damaris has this striking LO!  I love all the white space on this!

Devra is such a fun person!  I wish I could have been at that party with her!  Awesome LO!

Lisa has already started working on her Christmas cards!  So pretty!

Rachel made this beautiful LO!  I love how she stitched the heart!

Wendy made this super fun LO!  Look at that little cutie!

You can play along with this month's challenge on our FB group Paper Issues Friends & Fans.
