Free File Friday: Summer Vibes

It's the first official weekend of summer here and I have all the summer feels! If you haven't checked out the PI free files in the store lately, you are missing out!  Here are just a few that could work with your summer projects:

I was at the lake working on my layout and went with the whitecaps in the lake background to document last summer's adventures. I used Amy Tangerine's On A Whim paper, watercolor resist tag, and chipboard stickers. A few stickers from Bella Blvd Secrets of the Sea and Pebbles Sunshiny Day. It was fun to use the new We R Stitch Happy sewing machine for my waves scattered in the openings.
Don't be afraid to mix up collections and companies to find little bits and pieces that help tell your story!  I attached the smile script word from the Magical cut file set to add another wavy layer!

Kelly joined this round up with the NSD free file "Awesome" for her hiking layout.  I love how she used the new Photo Play Paper Campfire collection for this outdoorsy design. The earthy colors are just perfect for a hiking adventure!

Amanda brings the summer brights with the fun Echo Park Summer Fun and the NSD cut file pineapple and the tropical orchid cut file. Her sweet girl is wearing a matching shirt and the cut files look fantastic layered with this collection!

Rachel joins us with the geometric palm tree and the sunburst background.  The sweet photo looks perfect with these summery cut files.  Bella Blvd Pandas and Popsicles works so well with all the summer vibes. Layering cut files with lots of white space is such a stunning design idea!

Lisa rocked the butterfly wreath and all of the Simple Stories Hello Lovely mini collection.  The lovely little bits and stickers that Lisa added to the wreath and her layers around her daughter's photo are perfect.

Anna created with the lovely florals and #title words I love when she mixes multiple cut files! She used the new Pink Paislee Summer Lights and it is ombre perfection! Simple and beautiful effect!

Devra closes out our summer cut file round up.  I love how she used the geo palm trees and added hand stitching around them. It truly looks like string art perfection!  Isn't Summer Lights by Pink Paislee amazing peeking out of this fun cut file?!  It is absolutely the cutest with the tropical photo.

Mermaid Hair, Don't Care - Pink Paislee Summer Lights - Marcia Dehn-Nix

Hello Paper Issues friends!

Marcia here today with some inspiration from the new Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection. There are so many things I love about this collection ... I love the beach themed papers. They are perfect for scrapping a recent beach vacation my family took. I love the soft jewel tone colors that look like watercolors. Plus there are so many inspiring die cut quotes that make a layout title a breeze .... The Ocean is Calling and I Must Go ... or Mermaid Hair, Don't Care. That last quote was perfect for this photo of my daughter posing with a couple of clam shells. Her unruly curly hair is just something she doesn't fuss about when at the beach.

There are a lot of FREE Paper Issues cut files on this layout! Those gorgeous flowers are from the Summer Days cut file. Do you see the clam shells tucked under the flowers? and that starfish? They are from the Feels Like Summer cut file. There are even a few palm leaves from the Tropical Palms cut file and of course I cannot forget those circles framing the photo are from the Magical cut file.

I used some Heidi Swapp Color Shine and the plastic smoosh technique to create a blue watercolor like background. Embellishing is easy with the die cut ephemera packs.

Those Coastline Thickers I used for my title are foil covered foam. Their reflective quality makes them a bit difficult to photograph, but they are oh so pretty!

I hope you enjoyed my layout today. Load up on those FREE cut files as well as anything else that caught your eye. You can use my discount code and save 20%.  Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week.

Swag Bag Spotlight

I'll say it again!  My favorite time of the month is when I receive an email stating that my Swag Bag has shipped.  I have subscribed to this awesome bag of goodness, so it comes to my door each and every month. (Go HERE if you want to check out the details to sign up.)  This month, it is called, "This Kid is a Star."  Fun title, but you can totally create any theme you want.

Let's take a look at what our fabulous design team has created with Swag Bags.

I played along after a little down time.  This is just what I needed to get my creative juices flowing.  I did use a cloud punch to create a couple more clouds.  Not all SB's are exactly the same but I do believe I received the exact one you see above!!!  Here is what I did.....

Now, on to our other fab designers.....  Our Pocket Page gal, Kristie Van Ham never disappoints with her fabulous design and cute little fam. She used the perfect mix of March and May Bags.

Digging deep into her stash of Swag Bags is Lisa Swift with this well put together card.

The precut paper pieces can be cut even more and layered into a grid pattern like Amy Coose did on this fab spread.  She used our May SB.

Amanda Baldwin LOVED the mini alphas in the May kit, she created her entire title using them.

Using the super cool, darker Swag Bag from April is Kelly Feldman.

Our bags can be used for any occasion.  As you can see here, Anna Uhras used the May bag for documenting her daughter getting her license.

Devra Hunt is another one that likes to combine the bits and pieces of different SB's.  She used mostly May with a but from February.

#awesome is all the pieces that blend together to create a super handsome layout like Cassie Box has here.  This one is made from our June Bag.

Stacie Dietz chopped up some of the papers that came with the kit.  You can do sooooo much with a Swag Bag, the possibilities are endless.

So, did these fun designs convince you that you need a Swag Bag?  Go HERE to test drive one or sign up for our monthly kit that ships directly to you.  Use my code: Mary-Ann to get 20% off EVERYTHING you order from the PI store.  Get your total to over $60 and get free shipping.

Domestic Bliss Layout by Rachel Lowe:

Hello my Paper Issue friends!  Well today I have a DT layout using the fun collection Domestic Bliss by Simple Stories. The back ground paper is from the faith collection, how amazing is it and I just had to use it!

I don't often scrap me but this collection is about all us women/mums and what we do everyday, love it or hate it!

I have used the fab cut file from Paper Issues store, Your Vibe Attracts your Tribe (free).

I have used the feathers by enlarging, duplicating my favourite one and then placing horizontally on my layout. I have sewn on them to add texture.

If you use a heavily patterned paper when cutting a file such as this (a fine cut file) you will get a great effect such as this.

Then to the fun bit of adding embellishments! I have used the co ordinating die cuts and brads from this collection.

You can personalise your layout by choosing die cuts and quotes that go with your chosen photo!

I have gone for an over sized title from American Crafts to finish off my layout.

Here are some more close up photos for you!

I think for the sake of memory keeping we must scrap our selves and our lives not just others! I also think it can be good therapy.

Thank you for stopping by today. Remember all product and cut file is available in store at Paper Issues and feel free to use my discount code Rachel L for 20% off any product you purchase. See you next time and keep your projects coming, we do love seeing what you all create!

xXx

Scraplift Sunday 6/18

Hey there! Devra here again bringing you another edition of Scraplift Sunday! Today I have chosen a layout created by Anna. I love the diagonal design of the page. Tire's so much room for interpretation. It just screamed "lift me!" So we are.

Since it's Fathers Day I'm  paying tribute to my Dad with My Minds Eye Hey Mister. I took a lot of creative license with my layout today. I shrunk the design and pulled it in to the center of the page. See that stitching? Its with the WRMK Stitch Happy!

Amanda used the Sweet Stripe paper from the Echo Park Summer Fun line as the base of her design. What a brilliant idea to put a piece of paper to work for you!

I love how Kelly simplified the design to use a larger photo.  The Jen Hadfield Simple Life is a great choice to show off a beautiful outdoor photo .

One of my favorite things about Scraplift Sunday is who we lift ourselves as Anna has done today. She used the Wonky Chevron and Mom Life  cut files for her design on this one and wow it it fantastic!

Stacie also used a larger photo for her lift! I love how she moved the strips of paper towards the corners. That sweet photo jumps off the page, beautifully highlighted by the new Simple Stories Summer Days.

Rachel has her own spin on this too! Check out how she used just the small strips of paper, with a widened middle of the page! Those Bella Blvd Popsicles & Pandas embellishments look good enough to eat.  Summer Yum for sure.  That's even one of our cut files!

Cat has another great idea! She flipped her design to the other corners and surrounded her photo with some beautiful Shimelle and Amy Tangerine embellishments.  The mix of soft and bright colors here is lovely.

Well, now that we've given you several ideas, it's your turn to lift this page! We love when you join our challenges and there are many to choose from. You can find them in our June Challenge album in our Facebook group.
